Great Local Place

Perfect for our family, close to relatives and great location. Rare place in the area with great access to local attractions. House was beautifully cared for and well equipped- it’s a remote area so that was important.

Highly Recommend

Gina's place in Petrolia is an excellent choice when visiting the Lost Coast. Extremely clean, all the amenities you need, comfy beds, and great communication with Gina. This stay is highly recommended!

One-of-a-kind

Wow. This is one-of-a-kind in terms of location, amenities, and serenity. The air is beautiful, the surroundings are serene, the house is gorgeous, and the host is competent. We truly enjoyed cooking in the enormous and well-outfitted kitchen, luxuriating in the beds and breathing clean, cool air at night on the porch while we listened to only the sounds of the trees and rain. I wish we could have stayed longer! It is a bit of a trek into the area, so be aware you need 90 minutes in and out and the road is curvy! We came in at night and it was a bit of a nail-biter as a city driver. Totally worth it though. I suggest arriving and leaving during the say so you can see the truly remarkable scenery, redwoods, and edges of the road. Thank you Gina for a memorable stay in your remarkable property.

Spacious and Comfy

A relaxing stay. The Lost Coast Cabin is spacious and full of comfy furniture. Every amenity I could imagine was provided. Fluffy towels and soft linens. The kitchen was well equipped. I appreciated the motion-sensor nightlights in all the hallways, as I arrived near dark and it’s always hard to find the light switches in a house you don’t know. The owner was very responsive throughout the booking and arrival process. This property is a good base for exploring the Lost Coast, complete with a collection of books and field guides on the area. Would stay again.

Quality Home

My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of the home. Very well built and of high grade materials. Time and effort was definitely taken in its construction. Its a great layout and the 4 kids, ages 9-11, spent a lot of time playing hide and go seek in the house. It is definitely out of the way, which we already knew living in Humboldt County, but there is the ocean and river right there. Summer would be a great time to rent this home. The rental price was very affordable, especially since rental homes have really increased their prices since COVID. Gina was also very quick in returning correspondence and the check in and out process was really easy. While their is no cell phone service, a hard line phone is provided and the Wi-Fi is actually pretty strong. Would highly recommend to others.

Fell in love with the Lost Coast

This is one of the best Airbnbs I have ever stayed in. Gina put so many thoughtful touches into it that did not go unnoticed. Her guidebooks and recommendations were extremely helpful and made our trip even more amazing. We fell in love with the lost coast and hope to be back to this wonderful cottage again. Thank you Gina for a fantastic stay ♥️

The BEST

Gina‘s place is the BEST airbnb we’ve stayed in. Hands-down. What makes it so for us is this: 1. The Mattole Valley and Lost Coast are beautiful, beyond compare. 2. The Lost Coast Cottage is above and beyond both in essentials, and comfort. You’re left wanting for nothing when you stay there. Thank you Gina for providing such a beautiful and thoughtful space for us to enjoy our summer vacation!
